Concerning (Laden/Ballast) “Containerships” [Rate (7) of the Transit Dues Schedule] transiting the Suez Canal in both directions
Suez Canal Authority decided the following :-
Article One:
(Laden/Ballast) “Containerships” [Rate (7) of the Transit Dues Schedule] transiting the Suez Canal in both directions will be charged with a surcharge of 12% from total Suez Canal transit dues (including normal transit dues in addition to surcharges for tiers of containers on weather deck).
Noting that these surcharges are temporary and can be either amended or cancelled according to the “Maritime Industry” market conditions.
Article Two:
– This circular is applicable
to vessels transiting the Suez Canal from the 15th of July 2026.
